This is a novel that is enjoyed by a wide variety of people.
The lifestyles of various characters (mainly the author's high school friends) are portrayed from
their youth to their mid-thirties. The joys and sorrows of each character are weaved using only
written material, such as letters (both sent and unsent), memos, and fax messages, etc. This is
Himeno's bold attempt, since she is not afraid to experiment. Through this novel the reader can
experience the feeling of peeping into another person's letter. The reader will sense the reality
of the times in which the story is based, also it will help to identify your true self, and reminds
us of our bittersweet memories. It is interesting to discover that one learns a lot about a
particular character by reading the unsent letters.
The fact that fairing operation is done is hidden in the past.
Presently, there is a television program to which the viewer who applies publishes before and after of fairing operation in Japan.
